Workshop “Music on the Blockchain”

music on the blockchain workshop

⛓ NFTs AND DAOs FOR MUSIC, BEYOND THE HYPE ⛓

We are running a workshop series with Matteo Alessio Tambussi and Rob Stupay from the Ethereum Foundation for musicians and all interested parties along the value chain of music who are interested in the possibilities, opportunities, and challenges for music on the decentralized web – beyond the hype of NFT marketplaces.

The goal of this workshop is to give musicians, artists, and people who work in the music business a better understanding of the use-cases for smart contracts on which the next iteration of the web will be running. Especially with the complexity of the music business in mind.

Even though we are just at the very early beginning of this new era of the web, we believe it is important to understand how it will function and how the music ecosystem can benefit from the new possibilities of the underlying technology that drives it.

This workshop is not about how to get rich by minting NFTs on a marketplace but rather about the overall potential for music and its ecosystem on the decentralized web.

At the end of the workshop, you should be able to understand how smart contracts work and how to create and implement them, how to set up a DAO, and a general overview of what else you can and cannot do on Blockchain protocols.

The workshop is split into two parts.
1st part: Friday, July 9 from 4 – 6 pm
2nd part: Saturday, July 10 from 4 – 6 pm

It takes place on the Ethereum testnet. No money or energy resources will be involved.
Participation is free but we have limited the number of participants to 30 people to assure that everyone gets something out of it. If there are more sign-ups, we will organize more workshops in the following months.
