The Society for Musicology Research [Gesellschaft für Musikwirtschaftsforschung (GMM)] is the first association to represent the field of musicology research interdisciplinary and across academic borders in Germany. The GMM has emerged from networking amongst young and established researchers from different disciplines and is open to everyone who is interested in the academic research of music industry and music culture.

GMM promotes economical and cultural music research for common education and professional training. It encourages the exchange and cooperation between study programmes with thematic relevance, and the promotion of discussions and cooperations between science, art, critics and application.
